AIM
To provide the legislative knowledge and practical work procedures for people who require a Pilot & Escort licence to pilot or escort over dimensional loads. The course trains operators to Licence Level II.

DESIGNED FOR
Those who operate a Pilot or Escort Vehicle to warn other road users of the presence of an oversize vehicle/combination and control traffic as described in the performance guidelines

Participants who need to operate a Pilot & Escort vehicle in Queensland must hold a Queensland issued Accredited Pilots & Escorts licence unless they are mutually recognised interstate operator (Do not need to be a Queensland resident).

PRE-REQUISITES

• Hold a current provisional or an open Australian Driver Licence Class c or higher and held the licence for the entire three years prior to the date of application.
• Must be of good character.
• Interstate traffic history (check is only conducted if the applicant has not held Queensland Driver Licence for the past three years).
• Applicant must have no convictions for a disqualifying offence that relates to vehicle control and safety.

DURATION
1 Day.

QUALIFICATION GAINED
On successful completion of the course a Statement of Attainment will be awarded. This is used by the Queensland Department of Transport to help complete the application for:

• Level I, Pilot License
• Level II Pilot Escort accreditation (if they hold Level I and have completed 12 logged escorts).
