AIM
To ensure your operators are fully competent with the on-site operation of a 4WD or 6WD vehicle. The Program is structured to provide both theory and practical driving sessions.

• The theory session will cover defensive driving principles, Santos site requirements, 4WD operation and recovery techniques.
• The Practical Session will involve safe operation of the vehicle, including ascents and descents, water crossings, mud/sand/rock driving etc. At all times the operation will be controlled by the trainer to ensure our safety requirements are met.

Individuals and companies that require the skills and knowledge to operate a 4WD or 6WD vehicle in a safe manner in various operational environments.

PRE-REQUISITES
Minimum ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.

DURATION
1 ½ days

• Day One (1/2 Day): Conducted in a classroom situation which provides the framework for the practical session. Each participant receives a detailed handout book, covering the theory topics.
• Day Two (Full Day): The Practical Session is conducted over one full day for a four person group. It is very important that each participant receives individual instruction time. The practical session is conducted at a specially designed venue, which includes all of the environmental hazards such as water, mud, sand and rocks.

QUALIFICATION GAINED
Participants will receive a Statement of Attainment from TLI30207 - Certificate III Transport & Logistics (Road Transport).
